"Try It" is a single by Cassini Tales, a Moscow/London-based progressive rock project comprising Dennis Nazarov (guitar, vocals), Olga Lisicova (vocals), Guilherme "Ghost" Aguilar (bass), and Anton Dashkin (drums), released via Luminol Records.
Written around 2013, the song draws inspiration from Peter Gabriel's early solo albums and The Police's "Ghost in the Machine" and "Synchronicity." According to guitarist Dennis Nazarov, the track is deliberately prickly and incisive, built on mockery and bitter irony, addressing humanity's tendency to follow familiar, habitual patterns out of fear of leaving one's comfort zone, often procrastinating or clinging to the past in pursuit of illusory success, at times at a moral cost; the song questions whether people, despite recognizing their own shortcomings, genuinely wish to change. On the recording, Nazarov used a MusicMan Axis Super Sport and a Fender American Deluxe Telecaster (with '51 Nocaster pickups, used for the guitar solo through a custom delay unit provided by the sound engineer), alongside a Korg MicroKorg for synth layers, string textures, and arpeggios; bassist Guilherme Aguilar played a Rickenbacker bass. An official music video accompanies the release.
